kittieobitKittie Ann Hamrick Carr, 69, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Kittie was born Wednesday, March 20, 1946 in Clarksburg a daughter of the late Carl Lee Hamrick and Maude Lucille Leary Hamrick. On May 9, 1980 in Parsons, she was married to Philip Melvin Carr, who survives.

Also left to cherish Kittie’s memory are her two sons, Joshua Todd Carr and wife, Melissa, of Buckhannon and Adam Michael Carr and wife, Bethany, of Hurricane, a sister, Evelyn Shreve of Clarksburg, a brother, Arnold Hamrick and wife, Pat, of Elkins, two grandchildren, AnneMarie Carr and Phinlee Carr, a very special friend, Judy Parsons of St. George, and several nieces and nephews.

Kittie was preceded in death by four brothers, Neil, Richard, Cletus, and Jim Hamrick.

Kittie graduated from Parsons High School with the class of 1964. She had worked as a supervisor with Mountaineer Gas Company for over twenty-nine years, and as a NICS Examiner with the FBI in Clarksburg for eleven years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching westerns, and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Elkins.

Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home in Parsons on Friday from to 9 p.m. Funeral services was held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. Rev. Allen Crosten officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery.
