Linda Lee Lipscomb Lawrence, age 75 years, a resident of the Blackman Heights Community, Hambleton, WV, departed this life Wednesday evening, August 5, 2020 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. She was in her usual health and death was unexpected.
She was born Saturday, March 31, 1945 at Thomas, WV, a daughter of the late Lee Jasper Lipscomb and Catherine Elizabeth Helmick Lipscomb. On March 19, 1977 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Alvin Wayne Lawrence, who preceded her in death April 16, 2012. They had celebrated thirty-five years of marriage.
Surviving are one son, Randall Allen “Randy” Amie of Blackman Heights; one daughter, Stephanie “Dawn” Taylor and husband Chuck of Blackman Heights; two brothers, Richard Lipscomb and wife Marsha of Greensboro, NC, Jerry and wife Tammy Lipscomb of Elkins;; one sister, Mary Milkint and husband Chuck of Thomas; five grandchildren, Jeremy Taylor of Humble, TX, Brittany Taylor and wife Rebecca of Parsons, and Brooke Sharp and husband Justin of Hambleton, Skyla and Avery Taylor of Hambleton; nine great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Brenagin, Kolbie, Bryce, Greyson, and Harper Taylor, and Liam, Landrick, and Lincoln Sharp; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Thomas High School with the class of 1963. She was an employee of the former Tucker County Hospital and many years for Dr. Pete Michael. She was currently an employee of the Tucker County Senior Center, and she was a Mary Kay Consultant. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Parsons and the St. John’s United Methodist Women’s. She enjoyed reading and sitting on her front porch. She always had a smile.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Neil Parsons officiated, and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. As we continue to follow the CDC guidelines and the recent mandate by Gov. Jim Justice, social distancing as well as mask were required for those in attendance.
