Lois Mahoney, of Elkins, WV went to be with our Lord and Savior, Monday evening, July 1, 2019 at the Summers County ARH, Hinton, WV, following a sudden illness.
She was born Friday, August 28, 1931 to the late Richard Pearl and Orma Green Lilly in Summers County and lived most of her life in Tucker and Randolph Counties, WV.
Mrs. Mahoney touched the lives of many children throughout her years of service in the Tucker County School System with her love, patience, kindness, and gentleness.
She enjoyed sewing, crafting quilts, playing bridge, and activities with her family.
Lois was a wife, mother, and grandmother whose life truly embraced the love of her family. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Harry Bruce Mahoney, a daughter, Tina Hinrichs and husband Bryan of Elkins; two sons, Jay Mahoney and companion Areida Mendoza of Fairmont, Jon Mahoney and wife Cathy of Belington; four grandchildren, Coburn and Marcie Mahoney of Boone, NC, Kurtis and Katelyn Mahoney of Belington, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Alderman and Stella Hess, and brother-in-law, Elmo Alderman.
Mrs. Mahoney’s request for cremation was honored and committal will be private with Pastors Tom and Darlene Coffman (niece and husband), of Jumping Branch, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Randolph–Tucker Children’s Advocacy Center, P. O. Box 627, Elkins, WV 26241.
