A Celebration of Life for Margaret E. Barb age 88 of Painesville will be 1:00 PM Sunday January 26, 2020 at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Family and friends called from 12-1 pm. Sunday at the funeral home.
Margaret was the daughter of Harold and Viva (Hart) Barb born on November 7, 1931 in Parsons, West Virginia. On January 12, 2020 Margaret left this world and made the transition over the rainbow to the world beyond at Grand River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Painesville.
Margaret grew up in Parsons, WV amidst a large family and many wonderful friends. In fact, one friend, Jo Jones, who knew Margaret since she was 8 years old, they each wrote weekly to one another for the past 57 years. This accounted for 2964 letters…not including birthdays and holidays. Marg was a person who befriended everyone and made an impact on all who knew her. Heaven has truly received an angel who was loved by all and will be undoubtedly missed by many.
Margaret graduated with a bachelor’s degree in home economics from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a master’s degree in counseling from West Virginia University. She was a die-hard WVU Mountaineer sports fan. Margaret was a teacher and Guidance Counselor for the Painesville Township Schools for 39 years retiring in 1993. She enjoyed shopping and dining out with family and friends. She was a great seamstress and a wonderful cook and baker. Margaret was very generous to all. I have to thank Jodi Froelicher, an Aide who cared for my Aunt Marg, as she was with my Aunt seven days a week for the last five years and developed a very special bond with her. In addition, Suevone Kinney, RN, was her night nurse and never missed a night with her from June 29, 2018 until she went in the nursing home in November. I appreciate their dedication and commitment to my Aunt and their service went far beyond just working for my Aunt. I have come to recognize them as part of the family and we have developed a lifetime connection, all because of my Aunt.
She is survived by her niece Heather (Scott) Green, and her great nephew Tyler Green and was blessed with many special friends. Margaret was loved by all who knew her.
