MaryFridleyMary Elizabeth Fridley, 90, of Thomas, WV passed away May 25, 2016 at her home. She was born May 26, 1925 in Berryburg, WV a daughter of the late George David and Ethel Snoda Wilfong Boyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Fridley in 1990. Also preceding her in death, three brothers, Victor, Bill, and George, three sisters, Norma Smith, Leota Boyer, and Louise Smith. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by one son, William (Linda) Fridley, Thomas, WV, two daughters, Sharon (Donny) Smith, Charlotte, NC, and Donna J. Fridley, Davis, WV, six grandchildren, Shelley Colley, Casey Fridley, Kenton Fridley, Robin Bonner, Mike Wilson, Bobby Shoemaker, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Fridley worked as a homemaker the majority of her life, but worked in the Illinois Glass Factory in NJ and as a welder in Wheeling, WV doing her part for the War Effort. She took pride in cleaning her house, baking, and flower gardening. She loved her family and all her relatives very much. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church.
Friends were received Friday, May 27, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., the funeral hour, with Rev. Dennis Leatherman officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
