Michael Alan Whiteley, Jr. age 37 years, a resident of Prince George, VA departed this life early Monday morning, August 1, 2016 while visiting his parents. His death was unexpected and attributed to a stroke.
He was born Friday, February 9, 1979 at Dover, NJ a son of Michael Alan Whiteley, Sr., and Sharon Ann Hart Whiteley.
Also surviving are one daughter, Katrina D. Whiteley of Chester, VA; his maternal grandmother, Florence Strawderman Hart of Hambleton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Preceding him in death are his maternal grandfather, Howard E. “Red” Hart; his paternal grandparents, H. L. Whiteley, Jr., and Jewel R. Smith Whiteley; maternal great grandparents, Earl and Pearl Roy Strawderman, and C. R. and Clista B. Hart; and paternal great grandparents, H. L. Whiteley Sr. and Helen Margaret Bayliss Whiteley.
He was a graduate of Prince George High School with the Class of 1997. He had worked as an Electrician and loved to work on Gas Turbine Engines. He was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing bass guitar.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday. Final Rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor, Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. The Rev. James D. Strawderman and Pastor Sue Metzner officiated and interment followed at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Clover, St. George, WV.
