Evelyn Joan (Timmy) Storck
Evelyn Joan (Timmy) Storck passed away January 24, 2017. She was born November 5, 1923, and was the daughter of Charles Emmett Arnold, Sr. and Ethel Blizzard Arnold.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was a founder of the original Art League and a benefactor of the Parkersburg Art Center. She was the founder of the Bread of Life Fund at First Lutheran Church. She was the founder and benefactor of the Elizabeth Embelton School of Dance in Parkersburg West Virginia, and she was supportive of her husband and family in their family business, Storck Baking Company. She was also a member of the Junior League of Parkersburg and the Parkersburg Country Club.
Inspired by a devotion to prayer, Joan traveled frequently to Israel, Wales and Washington, DC. She was also involved in Appalachian Women’s Ministry.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Storck; brother, Charles Arnold; sister-in-law, Betty Storck; and her sisters, Betty Coughlin and Sue McIntosh, as well as two sisters who died in childhood, Mary Louise, Helen Ruth and her beloved grandchildren, Robin Ross and Julia Mazzella, and her nephew David Coughlin.
She is survived by her children, Susan and Sam Ross and Sally and Jim Mazzella.
Her grandchildren are Joel Mazzella (Ashley), Ginger Salamida (Dominic) and her step-grandsons Tres (Melissa) and Spencer Ross.
She adored her great grandchildren: Holly, John, Sam and Matt Mazzella; Dominic, Maria, Sarah Clare, Jonathan, Vincent, Gianna, Christopher and Andrew Salamida; and Braeden, Owen, Christian and Ivy Ross.
She loved her caregivers as family, Missy McCutcheon, Karie and Fred Sargent, Sarah and Mike Schwartz, Kim Hanlin, Michelle and Todd Snyder along with their children.
Her nephews include Charles Arnold, John McIntosh, Jim McIntosh and Jay Coughlin. Nieces include Jane Morningstar, Andrea Jansky, Anne Pejovich, Marcia McIntosh and her daughter Molly, Sally Muldoon and a cousin Anne Moorhead.
Arrangements are being made by the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis, WV. There will be a memorial in the spring in Canaan Valley, Davis, WV. Following will be a burial service at Evergreen North Cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband.

Nancy S. Hershman
Nancy Snider Hershman, 62, of Winchester, VA died on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at her home.
Nancy was born on February 15, 1954 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Edward L. and Grace Ashby Snider. She was an administrative associate for 23 years at the Winchester Medical Center and Home Instead Senior Care in Winchester, VA. She was a former member of the Rosedale Baptist Church in Winchester, VA. She was an avid lover of bluegrass music and camping.
Nancy married Dallas R. Hershman on November 3, 1973 in Oakland, MD.
Surviving with her husband of 43 years is a daughter: Ashley S. Clevenger and her husband Chad of Winchester, VA; a son: Joseph J. Hershman of Wichita, KS; a brother: Ralph Snider of Parsons, WV; a grandson: Jude M. Clevenger and a niece and nephew.
She is preceded in death by a sister: Sandra Knotts.
A celebration of her life to be held at a later date.

Frank Metz
April 15, 1930 – January 13, 2017
On January 13, 2017 Ronald Franklin “Frank” Metz passed away peacefully at the age of 86 surrounded by his family. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Grace Metz (nee Fitzgerald) and the devoted father of Barbara Butka and her husband Joe, Linda Metz and the late Ronald Franklin, Jr , Donna Wells, Dottie Lester and son-in-law Mark Lester; dear brother of Virginia Herndon and the late Betty Bukowitz, Bob, Jim, Jack, Lee and Rosalie Shaffer. Loving grandfather of Eric, Michelle, Derek, Jennifer, Joey and Ryan; cherished great-grandfather of Joshwa, Luke, Audrey and Max. he was born and raised in St. George, WV and his residence was Odenton, Md. A Celebration of his life was held on Monday, January 16, 2017. Inurnment in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
William Ray Harner
William (Bill) Ray Harner, 76, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Green Valley Commons Assisted Living in Winchester, VA, following his bout with Alzheimer’s.
Born June 15, 1940, in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of the late Harry Clyde Harner and Helen McBee Harner.
Bill graduated in the 1958 Class of Parsons High School, Parsons, WV, and was inducted in Parsons High School Hall of Fame in 2013. He also attended West Virginia University and several banking schools.
Bill worked for Tucker County Bank and Capital Airlines before continuing a successful banking career, first with the former Blakeley Bank & Trust in Ranson, WV, and then with the Bank of Charles Town from which he retired in 2003 as Senior Vice President & Cashier after 36 years.
He served on the Board of Directors of Potomac Bancshares, Inc., and the Bank of Charles Town until his retirement from the Board in 2012.
Bill was appointed a member of the Board of Governors of the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Philadelphia, PA, in January 2004 and became Board Member Emeritus in 2013. While serving on the Board, Bill was Chairman of the Credentials Committee.
Before and during his tenure on the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital Board, he served as Coordinator of Child Transport in the Eastern Panhandle Shrine Club and personally made over 250 trips transporting children from the Eastern Panhandle to Philadelphia. It was serving these children that made him most proud.
Bill was Past Master of Malta Lodge No. 80 AF&AM and honored as a 50 year member in 2011. He was proud to have had his grandson Scott present him with his 50 year pin at a later meeting. He was also a member of Charles Town Chapter No. 128, Order of the Eastern Star, and served as Worthy Patron with his wife serving as Worthy Matron in 1997-98.
He was a member of Osiris Shriners in Wheeling, WV, and was Emeritus Aide.
He was a member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Martinsburg.
Bill was Past President of the Eastern Panhandle Shrine Club and the Osiris Scooter Patrol which he formed in 1991.
Bill was former Treasurer and Membership Chairman of the Jefferson County Isaak Walton League for many years.
He was a former Chapter “A” Director of the GoldWing Road Riders Association. He and his wife Janet enjoyed many vacation trips across the country on their GoldWing, many of which took them to national WingDing conventions and area rallies, as well as to many concerts to see his favorite country singer, Reba McIntyre. He was her number one fan.
He was a 52-year member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church and had served as Elder.
Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet Wright Harner; daughters Tammy Davidson and her husband, Wayne, and Judy Carpenter of Birmingham, AL; grandsons Dale Carpenter, Jr., and Chad Carpenter of Birmingham, AL, Scott Carpenter of Seattle, WA, and Tony Fusco of Birmingham, AL; and granddaughter Elizabeth Fusco of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by a close aunt, Doris Harner, and many cousins. He also leaves his two beloved Jack Russells, Elroy and Munchie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Mae Palm.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. at Charles Town Presbyterian Church, with Pastor John Bethard officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town. Masonic graveside services will be held.
The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry. An Eastern Star Memorial Service was held at 5:30 p.m.
Bill was held in the highest regard and was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Keith Wayne “T-Bone” Pennington
Keith Wayne “T-Bone” Pennington, 67, of Thomas, WV went to his heavenly home on January 27, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born July 12, 1949 in Davis, WV a son of the late Carrol Ray and Elsie Lorene Reed Pennington. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Debbie Gollihue Pennington on Dec. 18, 2002, three brothers, Tom, Larry and Carl Jr. and two sisters, Linda Young and infant sister Patricia. Survivors include one daughter; Shanna Pennington of Thomas, WV, one brother; Barry (Tammy) Pennington of Pa., one grandson; William Wayne (Aldean) McMahan and a host of nieces and nephews.
T-Bone was employed as a truck driver for Fairfax stone and sand for over 30 years and later for Nelson Excavating. He was a member of Davis Church of God and he enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially spending time with his grandson Aldean.
Friends will be received on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 12 noon until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at Hinkle Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev.
