Patty Jo Snyder McDaniel, age 72 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Wednesday evening, December 3, 2014 peacefully at her home. She had been in declining health.

PattyJoMcDanielShe was born Tuesday, June 2, 1942 at Hambleton, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Carl and Jennie Rae Judy Snyder. She was married to Rudolph James “Rudy” McDaniel, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Bobby J. Dennis of Thomas, Charles H. “Charlie” Dennis and wife Sherry of Masontown, John H. Collett, Jr. of Buckhannon; one daughter, Tammy J. Dennis Burgess and husband Alan of Pinch; two brothers, Bill Snyder of Hambleton and Kelly Snyder and wife Adelene of Parsons; four sisters, Lena Snyder Pennington of Elkins, Shirley Allison of Ohio, Betty Bonner and Sharon Nestor and husband Walt, all of Parsons; nine grandchildren, Billy and wife Natalie, Amber, Jordan, Adair, Kayla, Nichole, Nina, Ray and Cody and three great grandchildren, Jacob, Mason and Zander.

Preceding her in death are one daughter, Sherry Rae Dennis; three brothers, Kenneth, Hoye, and Gerald Snyder; four sisters, Tacie DeWalt, Opal Griffith, Gaye Day and Muriel Simmons.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School. She was a homemaker, an employee of the Parsons Shoe Plant, Sheetz of Parsons and Canaan Valley Resort for several years. She was a noted cook, enjoyed painting, crafts and sewing. She read her Bible everyday and dearly loved her grandchildren.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Pat Cassidy officiated and interment followed at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Patty Jo Snyder McDaniel,.
