Peter E. (Pete) Barmer, 79, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 1. Pete grew up in Davis, WV, the son of Eugene and Elaine Barmer. His sister, Betty, preceded him in death. Pete attended Tucker County schools including the Coketon Colored School, Davis Elementary and Mountaineer High School. He attended WV State University and served in the United States Air Force. Pete was an avid sports fan, a coin collector and a bird watcher.
Pete leaves behind his life companion, Mary Quattro, their son, Aaron Q. Barmer, and his grandson, Absalom Q. Barmer, as well as seven nieces and nephews, their children and a large extended family.
Memorial services are planned for late May in Davis.
