Ray Clifton Judy, best friend and husband of Gisela, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.


He was born on January 8, 1934, in Lead Mine, West Virginia to George and Carrie (Lantz) Judy. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1961. On November 17, 1956, in Nelligen, Germany, Ray married Gisela Schmid and she survives.  He worked for Dura Corporation in Quality Control, retiring in March of 1980.  Ray was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and served on the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and gardening. Ray loved his dogs and ATV riding.

In addition to his wife, Gisela Judy, Ray is survived by four sons, Terry (Starr) Judy, Richard (Sherry) Judy, Timothy Judy, and Patrick Judy; one brother, Joe Judy; three sisters, Glinda, Linda, and Nancy; eleven grandchildren, Terry Jr. (Michelle) Judy, Robert Judy, Casandra (Jason) Shadoan, Rachel Gobba, Heather Gobba, Janelle (Adam) Marks, Justin Judy, Tyler Judy, Trevor (fiancé, Rachel) Judy, Nicole (Heath) Ries and grandson-in-law, Jeremiah Dorris; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Melvin, and Lonny Judy; two sisters, Natalie and Helen, granddaughter, Sara Gentry-Dorris and a great granddaughter, Lily.

Visitation for Ray was Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #97 and V.F.W. Post #1584 Annis-Fint at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Joel Sarrault officiating. In honor of Ray being a simple man, the family requested you come dressed casually to the funeral home, whether attending visitation or the service.  You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society, St. John’s Lutheran Church or to a charity of donor’s choice.  Envelopes are available at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
