Ricky is survived by his devoted wife, Lucinda Harris Knotts; his son, Ricky Knotts Jr. and wife April of Rowlesburg, three stepsons: D. Paul Pennington and wife, Melinda of Parsons, Jason Loughrie and wife, Kasey of Aurora, and John Phillips and partner, Amber of Parsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver “Mack” Knotts and Edward Knotts, and one sister, Carol Poster.

Ricky attended Parsons High School and spent much of his life working hard to provide for his family. He first worked as a logger before beginning a long career as a coal miner, retiring from Consol Coal Mines. A true outdoorsman, Ricky was an avid hunter and fisherman who found great joy in nature and in the mountains, he called home.

A man of deep faith, Ricky was a follower of Shepherd’s Chapel Church. He had a strong knowledge of the Bible and loved studying and sharing scripture with others. His faith guided him through all things and was the cornerstone of his life. Ricky will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his devotion to family, his strong work ethic, and above all, his unwavering faith in God.

In keeping with his wishes, Ricky will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ricky A. Knotts, Sr. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
