Robert “Bob” Lee Collette

Robert “Bob” Lee Collette, 78, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.

 

Bob was born Thursday, October 4, 1945, in Elkins, the son of the late Troy Elkins Collette and Myrtle Margaret Mike Collett.

 

Left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Ginger Lynn Collette McDougal of Sod, one son, Charles Lee Collette and wife Chanda of Elkins, one stepson, Christopher Fortney and wife Christine of Elkins, one stepdaughter, Angie Phillips and husband, Jake of Hambleton, five grandchildren, Vanessa Malcomb and husband Nicolis, Gregory McDougal II, Leighanna McDougal, John Ross McDougal, Chasity McDougal, two step-grandchildren, Cheyenne Lawrence and companion Richard Wood, and Jacob Phillips, all of Hambleton, eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Emma, Tanner, Payton, Kirsten, Walker, Wesson, and Waylon, one sister, Janet Ann Collett Crider of Elkins, and one nephew, Stephen Allen Crider of Elkins.

 

Preceding Bob in death besides his parents was his wife, Linda Lou Thornhill Collette, and one brother, Roy Gene Collette.

 

Bob was a 1964 graduate of Elkins High School. He retired from the City of Elkins as a wastewater lab technician. Bob enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and the outdoors.

 

Bob’s request for cremation was honored and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Robert Lee Collette. Send online condolences to the family at www.therandolphfuneralhome.com.
