Robert Carrington Hebb, 85, a resident of the Location community of St. George, passed from this life Tuesday March 2, 2022, at Cortland Acres in Thomas.

Robert was born on Tuesday, June 16, 1936, a son of the late June Hebb. On May 1, 1954, in Oakland, MD, he was married to the former Velma Lorena Moreland, who survives.  They had celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage.  He had one sister Dawn Thorne of Pennsylvania.

Surviving along with his wife are three children, Robin with husband Rob, Crystal with husband Greg, and David with wife Jennifer, eight grandchildren, Josh with wife Kelly, Jeremiah with wife Tricia, Raime, Justin with wife Michelle, Zach with wife Jennifer, Lindsay with husband Ray, Daniel, Caitlyn with husband Jeremy, and twenty-eight great grandchildren.

Preceding Robert in death was his brother-in-law, Jim and grandchild, Hunter.

After graduating from Parsons High School, Bob started working in 1953, starting on local farms in Eglon, the nearby stockyard, the Exxon station in Parsons, raising turkeys for the Sterling Corporation, then the Sterling Facet Company, a carpenter in NC, then worked at the shoe plant in Parsons, and went on working at Blackwater State Park, then finished his career at Kidwell’s Auto Parts in Thomas.

He attended the Good Tidings Assembly of God Church on Location Road and was Baptized in the Cheat River. A true outdoorsman, known for his love of hunting and fishing, he continued to hunt and fish with a passion, until he obtained a severe leg injury while hunting. His knowledge and love of the outdoors will live on in his children and grandchildren, he will be sorely missed.

Robert’s request for cremation was honored, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Good Tidings Assembly of God Church at a later date.  The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Robert Carrington Hebb.  Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
