Robert Ernest Booker, 77, of Davis, WV passed away May 11, 2016 at Cortland Acres. He was born January 24, 1939 in Indian Head, MD a son of the late Woody Lafayette and Nellie Gray Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Diane Huffman Booker, also surviving are two daughters, Theresa (Tom) Sinchak, Severn, MD and Kathy (Terry) Miller, Annapolis, MD,one brother, Bronson, one sister, Anna Shelton, Indian Head, MD, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, Kathryn Bright.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Woody, James “Jimmy”, Lawrence “Sonny”, Paul “Buck”, 5 sisters, Margaret, Maxine, Edith, Nancy, and Ruby.
Mr. Booker worked as a mechanic at Fort Meade, MD for the federal government and retired in February of 1994 with numerous awards given to him. He enjoyed gardening, he took pride in the care of his flowers, woodworking, yard ornaments, and he loved dirt track racing.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Friday, May 13, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held, 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at Hinkle Funeral Home with Rev. Reggie Goldstein officiating. Interment followed in Davis Cemetery. Immediately following the interment, refreshments will be held at the Davis Church of God.
