Rodney Dale Burns, 87, a resident of Hambleton, passed from this life Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Colonial Place in Elkins.
Rodney was born Tuesday, June 2, 1931, in Parsons, a son of the late Roy Wade Burns and Helen Wilhelm Burns. On July 21, 1956 in Perryville, MD, he was married to the former Beulah P. Hebb, who survives. They had celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Left to cherish Rodney’s memory is one son, Kevin Burns and fiancé Debra Ross, of Parsons, and one daughter, Tina Bohon, three grandchildren, Angie Yuchek, Nick Burns and Savanah Burns, one great-granddaughter, Trista Yuchek, one brother, Allen Keith Burns, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by ten siblings, Leroy Burns, Nina Burns Buchannon, Evelyn Jolly, Harold Burns, Betty Lou Bible, Delvin Burns, Eldon Burns, Madonna Burns, Roy Burns and Helen Burns.
Rodney was a graduate of Parsons High School and had worked as a Carpenter with the union, United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on and around the house. He loved his family very much and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held at Hostetler Funeral Home in Parsons on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev Neal Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Rodney Dale Burns.
