ROSA IRENE “ROSE” TURVEY HARDY, age 63 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2015 in The Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown, WV with her family at her side, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born Monday, October 29, 1951 at Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Herbert Crosley Turvey, Sr. and Lucille Josephine Plemmons Turvey. On February 14, 1970 at Red House, MD, she was married to Delmas William Hardy, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Melissa Dawn “Missy” Jones and husband Billy of Parsons; one sister, Rita Josephine Murphy and husband Stephen of Mt. Nebo, WV, one granddaughter, Makenzie Brooke Jones and fiancé Dan Sharp of Hambleton, WV, one great grandson “Dacen”, to be born September of this year; several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and her everyday special friends.
Preceding her in death are one brother, Herbert Crosley “Bud” Turvey, Jr., who preceded her in death February 21, 1982.
She attended the schools at Ohio. After her father’s untimely death her family moved to Parsons, where she attended the Parsons Grade School and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1970. She was an employee of the former Parsons Nursery, a former CNA for Cortland Acres, was an employee of the former Shop-n-go, and she was a Grandparent Aid for Tucker County Preschool.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final Rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor, Monday, April 13, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Greg Smith and Pastor Allen D.
