Sandra Jean Collins “Sandy” Bunnell

Sandra Jean Collins “Sandy” Bunnell, age 70 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Saturday evening, November 3, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of WV Caring.  She had been in declining health for the past two and one-half years.


She was born Saturday, August 14, 1948 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Evelyn Calvert Collins.  On October 19, 2011, she was married to Terry Allen Bunnell, who survives.  They spent twenty-seven years together.

Also surviving is one daughter, Carrie Wratchford Allender and husband, Jacky of Kerens; two grandchildren, Haley Jordan Allender and Wesley Jackson Allender, both of Kerens; two step-sons, Josh Bunnell and companion Chanda of Parsons and Dillon Bunnell and wife Devon of Bruceton Mills; six step-grandchildren; a special cousin, Jeanette Crosten of Parsons; and she had many friends.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1966.  She was a former employee of Cortland Acres, Aegis Communications and for twelve years, before her illness, she worked at the Tucker County Senior Center working in the office.  She enjoyed reading, camping and she was a wonderful cook.  She loved her dog, “Pug”.

Sandy’s request for cremation was honored.  The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.   A Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday evening, November 8, 2018 at 7 p.m.  The Reverend Neil Parsons will officiate.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Sandra Jean Collins “Sandy” Bunnell.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
