Teresa Macylane “Mickey” Pennington, age 66 years, a resident of the Blackman Flats Community, Hambleton, WV, departed this life early Monday morning, October 14, 2019 at the home of her daughter Stephanie Ann Shine in Winston Salem, NC.
She was born Monday, May 25, 1953 at her parent’s home in Blackman Flats, Hambleton, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Burdette and Alma Edith Kelley Pennington. Surviving is her companion, Dave Burnside of Montrose. She was thrice married, first to William Shine, second to Dean Y. Dick and third to Randall Ray Barker.
Also surviving are four children, Stacy Lynn Pennington and husband Dave of Alabama, Stephanie Ann Shine and wife Tammy of Winston Salem, NC and twins, George William Shine and wife Misti of Parsons, and Racheal Lee Shine and companion Chad of Indiana; three sisters, Bobbi McWilliams, Patricia Reall-McClure and husband John and Marilyn “Dian” Pennington-Shifflett and husband Doug; three granddaughters, Shauna Mikalynn, Emmaranda Lee and Kathryn Grace Martin; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her grandpups, Josie, Master Jed, Jesse, Jitterbug, Sissy and Lucy.
Preceding her in death are one infant son; four brothers, Delbert “Nub” Pennington, Larry “Poug” Pennington, Douglas Pennington and Harry “Sut” Pennington; two sisters, Sharon Ann Pennington Lambert and Emma Lee Pennington; and one foster brother, Merv Close.
She attended the Parsons Grade School and Parsons High School. She was a grill cook, a former scale operator at the Kingsford Charcoal Plant, a caretaker and owner and operator of the former Mickey D’s in Parsons, WV, and worked as assistant manager for Family Dollar in Parsons.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 1 p.m.. The Rev. J. Michael Lantz and The Rev. Justin Jones officiated and interment followed at the Pennington Family Cemetery at Blackman Flats, Hambleton, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Parsons Food Pantry, 215 First Street, Parsons, WV 26287.
