TRUBY GAY JACKSON SWEATT, age 71 years, a former resident of Sugarlands Community, Holly Meadows and more recently a resident of Princeton, WV, departed this life Monday, February 9, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Michelle Dilly of Simpsonville, SC.

TrubySweattShe was born Saturday, July 24, 1943 at Iaeger, WV, a daughter of the late William and Ardella Cooke Jackson. She was twice married. First to Ronald Cline, who survives at Pelzer, SC., and on April 19, 1974 at Greenville, SC, she was married to Larry Sweatt, who preceded her in death March 10, 2007.

Surviving are three daughters, Belinda Adora Davis of Pelzer, SC, Lavinia Denise Gilliam and fiancé Keith Kellett of Simpsonville, SC, and Tarita “Michelle” Dilly of Simpsonville, SC; five brothers, Lennis Jackson and wife Donna of WV, Gleason Jackson and wife Loeda of NC, Acie Jackson and wife Peggy of SC, Cletis Jackson and wife Chris and Clinton Jackson and wife Susie, all of WV; and five sisters, Debbie Jackson of WV, Sue Addair of NC, Carol East and husband David of IN, Doris Vanover and husband Estel and Glada Cline and husband Harold, all of WV; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Hershall Jackson and Arvil Jackson.

She attended the schools of Iaeger, WV. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked most of her career at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV, and she worked for a Care Facility in NC, until her retirement. She loved to read books and liked the ocean and to travel.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from Noon until 2 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for TRUBY GAY JACKSON SWEATT.
