duckworthvaleriephotoValerie Jean Duckworth, 69, of Parsons, WV (formerly of Hedgesville, WV) went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Garrett Memorial Hospital.

Born February 20, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Mulcahy and Edna Alberta Ludwig Mulcahy.

She loved life, family, and friends, and enjoyed the snow and the ocean. She never met a stranger and always had kind words and never had a bad thing to say. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James F. Duckworth III; four sons, Brian and wife, Jennifer, Bruce and friend, Dale Zentner, Brent and wife, Lori, and Bradley and wife, Barbara; seven grandchildren, Drew, Tyler, Chase, Candice, Bradley, Brittney, and Zackery; one great-grandchild, Peyton; one sister, Pat Bresnahan and her daughters Linda and Diana; brother-in-law, Milton and his wife, sister-in-law, Donna; and sisters-in-law, Frankie and Sandy.

She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Ronnie Mulcahy and a brother-in-law, Tommy Bresnahan.

Valerie you were loved by many and will be missed by many more.

Family received friends on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, WV.

Funeral service were held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Brad Barton officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
