Viola Frances Snyder

Viola Frances Snyder, 91, passed away April 24, 2016 at Cortland Acres. She was born October 28, 1924 in Eglon, WV a daughter of the late Elmer Clay and Oma Mae Arnold Harsh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Snyder on May 17, 1995; they were married on April 8, 1939. Also preceding her in death, one son, Darwin L. Snyder, two grandsons, Christopher and Travis Snyder, one son-in-law, Robert Vanmeter, one brother, Herbert Harsh, and one sister, Leona Wotring.
She is survived by two sons, Roger E. (Sue Ann) Snyder, Spotsylvania, VA, and Milton M. Snyder, Fredrick, MD, one daughter, Esther Snyder and companion Paul Florence, Parsons, WV, one daughter-in-law, Judy Snyder, one special niece, Janet Ball, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Snyder worked as a homemaker for the majority of her life but for several years worked at Hopemont and took special pride in caring for patients at the end of their journey in life. She was Pentecostal by faith. She was a loving wife and mother to all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and quilting.
Friends will be received Friday, April 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at Hinkle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Accident Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
