Walter Roy “Wally” Myers II

Walter Roy “Wally” Myers II, age 46, of Charleston, passed away Saturday April 4, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

Wally was born in Charleston on May 15, 1968 the son of Walter R. and Vivian Goff Myers. He was a member of Morris Memorial United Methodist Church, where he belonged to the Boy Scout Troop 177. Wally achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and was a proud member of the Order of the Arrow. He qualified and was a member of

the Wachu Dance Team.

He was a graduate of George Washington High School, class of 1986. Wally attended Carver Career Center, where he achieved his certification in welding. He then completed an apprenticeship in iron working. Wally was a member of Iron Workers Local Union 301.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Forest and Vivian Goff, and his paternal grandparents, Arlie and Henrietta Myers. Wally was a kind person who enjoyed helping others. He was a devoted son,

brother, cousin, uncle and a loyal friend. In addition to his parents, Wally is survived by; his sisters, Tania Bunderson, her husband Rex, Nadia Carpenter, her husband Josh; brother and best friend, Adam

Myers; nieces Natalia “Ali” McPhail and Alexa Bunderson, nephew Wyatt Bunderson, all of Charleston; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be missed by his dear friend, Alana Saul and their beloved dog, Mazie.

A celebration of Wally’s life was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday April 8, 2015 at

Harding Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Stephen White officiated. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday before the services at the funeral home. A second service was held, in honor of his Preston County roots, at 2100 pm Thursday at the Browning Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 24 Chestnut St .
