WANDA MARIE DAVIS WOTRING, age 88 years, a native of Tucker County, WV and more recently a resident of Nestorville, WV departed this life Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV with her family at her side.
She was born Wednesday, June 2, 1926 at Horseshoe Run, St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Jacob Joseph and Audy Opal Eddie Davis. On October 24, 1948 at Red House, MD, she was married to Willard Carl Wotring, who preceded her in death December 20, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Willard “Jack” Wotring and Ronald Joseph Wotring, both of Philippi; one grandson, Sherwood Wotring; two great grandchildren, Franklyn Wotring and Crystal Wotring; one nephew, Ricky Bright; and three nieces, Paula Morici, Roxane Bright and Linda Gatto.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one brother, Roy “Bill” Davis; and two sisters, Lula Davis and Jean Bright.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1945. She was a former cook for the Barbour County Schools and she was a homemaker. She was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and animals.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Final Rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Philip Dent officiated and interment followed at the Bonnifield Cemetery at St. George, WV.
