Wayne Allen Lipscomb of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on January 23, 2019. He was 44. Wayne was born on February 17, 1974 in Parsons, West Virginia to Carl Eugene and Glenda Alice (Poling) Lipscomb.
Growing up, Wayne was very inquisitive. He enjoyed taking things apart just to see how they worked. As he got older, he found more daring things to do like repel off cliffs and ride motorcycles. Wayne attended the First United Methodist Church in Parsons, WV.
From 1992 to 1994, Wayne served in the US Navy where he acquired his Navy name Lips. After his Naval service, he moved to Jacksonville, FL, where he met his lovely wife Amber. He found his other church family at CrossRoad Church in Jacksonville, FL.
Wayne always had a zest for learning. He would often be found reading a textbook or watching History and Science channels. He also loved a good tear jerker. Wayne was a gifted troubleshooter and could make nearly anything work again, thus given the name Mr. Fix It.
Wayne was also a loving Daddy. He loved to burn sticks in the backyard and roast marshmallows with the kids. He was very proud of his kids and worked very hard to ensure their success in life. Wayne also loved the outdoors and spent many hours fishing and shrimping.
Wayne is survived by his wife Amber Lipscomb; his son Ty Carl (13), and daughter Christina Skye (8); parents, Carl and Glenda Lipscomb; brothers, Michael Lipscomb, Danny Lipscomb and wife Pam, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Porter Hoy and Glenda (Ghay) Poling and other Grandparents, Alfred William and Ruby Virginia (Keister) Lipscomb.
The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church at Parsons, WV on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 10 until 11 a.m. On Saturday at 11 a.m, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held. The Rev. William R. Brown will officiate and inurnment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Wayne Allen Lipscomb.
