Wilda Jean Loughry Dumire, age 86 years, a former resident of the Location Community, Saint George, WV and Parsons, WV and more recently a resident of Hambleton, WV, where she made her home with Ciara Smith, departed this life late Sunday evening, July 24, 2016 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Oakland, MD.
She was born Monday, June 2, 1930 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Wilbur Gay and Mary Arbogast Loughry. On June 24, 1949 at Maryland, she was married to Virgil Quinten Dumire, who preceded her in death October 22, 2002. They had celebrated fifty-three years of marriage.
Surviving are four nephews and nieces, Dennis Loughry, Brenda Dutton, Mike Loughry and Cathy Loughry; and her special friend and caregiver, Ciara Smith.
Preceding her in death are two brothers, Don Loughry and Ron Loughry.
She attended the schools of Tucker County and worked as a CNA in the hospital setting. She was a Methodist by faith. Wilda loved her cats, western movies and crossword puzzles. She was musically inclined and could play just about any instrument she picked up and she enjoyed her lunch outings with Ciara.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 11 until Noon. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Thursday July 28, 2016 at 12 Noon. The Reverend Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Limestone Cemetery at Saint George, WV.
