Fellow West Virginians

West Virginia, out of all 50 states, currently ranks 48th in Education, the Economy, and Health Care, according to US News and World Report.

Our current standing, third from the bottom, is not a reflection of our citizens but a result of our government leaders’ misplaced priorities. The legislatures have focused on many of the wrong issues, and the current governor’s silence on crucial matters is holding us back from reaching our full potential.

Let us look at the city of Huntington as a case study. Twelve years ago, the city had the most drug deaths in the United States, led the state with people struggling with obesity, and Huntington was in a financial freefall. As the city raced to the bottom, it shared similar challenges with the rest of West Virginia. Now, twelve years later, the city has been rated again by US News and World Report, but this time as one of the top 100 best places to live (86th and 48th best place to retire) in the United States!

So there is hope. A logical question to ask is what changed. The change is that Huntington elected a new mayor twelve years ago. His name is Steve Williams. He made the difference in Huntington. His vision, business acumen, expertise, and leadership transformed the city. The community was pulled together, and Steve guided the city in a new and positive direction. The citizens have succeeded in Huntington; we all can succeed in West Virginia with him. We need this proven leader to show us the way.

This is not a Republican or Democratic issue; this is a West Virginia issue and it affects all of us. Together, we can make a difference. We need a governor with proven skills and a track record of getting things done for all West Virginians. Steve Williams is that leader. I have watched Steve’s accomplishments over the years and believe that his brand of leadership is what is needed in Charleston. Please Google him and learn more about the difference he can make for our state. Search on Google:

“Steve Williams for WV,” or

“Steve Williams turned Huntington around. Now he wants to give West Virginia a try”

Steve is a doer; he is our best hope as the next governor, and the time is now. All West Virginians deserve the best possible state – one that ranks at the top of the list and not the bottom. Our future depends on this, and please vote for the best candidate – Steve Williams.
