The Parsons Advocate
Well, here we go again folks, another sicko predator taken off the streets. A man that lives in a town not 60 miles away from where I live was arrested in Mexico for allegedly trying to buy a seven year old girl. Yes, you heard me HE WAS TRYING TO BUY A CHILD! He was arrested for failing to update his sex offender registration after traveling to Mexico not for trying to purchase another human being.
When he was arrested in Mexico he had in his possession two tranquilizer air guns, meth, a cell phone jammer and $5,000 in cash to purchase the child. Momma Said, “I don’t know what is worse a man purchasing a child or a person selling a child.” I just cannot wrap my mind around this one.
He is a predator and is only sentenced to 10 years in prison. I am so glad the child is apparently safe and there was no mention of the person trying to sell the child. I don’t honestly know if that little girl will ever be destined to be safe. I pray for her little soul and hope someone helps her. Unfortunately we will never hear any more from this story.
I hope he lives a life of HELL while in prison and he deserves everything that happens to him. There are men in prison that would as soon associate themselves with murderers than a child molester. I have seen enough on TV to know what would have happened to that innocent little girl and none of it would have been good. Momma Said. “Happy hunting boys go get him.”
Butterscotch Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
- ▢3 cups all-purpose flour
- ▢2 tsp. cornstarch
- ▢1 tsp. baking soda
- ▢¼ tsp. salt
- ▢½ tsp. cinnamon
- ▢11 or 12 oz. bag butterscotch chips
- ▢1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ▢1 ¼ cups brown sugar
- ▢¼ cup granulated sugar
- ▢2 large eggs, room temperature
- ▢1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350º F. Line a cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and 1 cup of butterscotch chips. Set aside.
- In a larger mixing bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. You want this mixture to be fluffy and pale in color.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, beat for 30 seconds.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, mixing on low speed. The dough will be thick. I like to finish mixing the flour into the dough by hand with a spatula.
- Use a cookie scoop to form golf ball sized cookie dough balls, roll into a smooth ball between your hands. Press the remaining butterscotch chips on the outside of the dough balls. Place about 8 cookies on a cookie sheet lined with a silicone baking mat at a time.
- For 2 Tbsp. sized dough balls, bake for 10-13 minutes. Adjust the bake time accordingly for smaller or larger cookies.
- Allow the cookies to cool for 15 minutes on the baking sheet before removing.
