The Parsons Advocate

Prayers have been answered the cancer is gone from my brother’s throat.  I am so happy I could shout from the mountaintops.  That is one scare I “DO NOT” want to go through again.  Momma Said, “Take care of yourself and believe there is someone looking out for you even if you don’t want to accept it.”

I do believe I have a Guardian Angel because there have been some instances when I should not still be here.  There have been so many close calls in my life that there has to be something more than luck riding on my side.  And this has been going on my whole life, from early childhood I can remember times when I was just in the right place at the right time.

I will take that angel riding on my shoulder any day of the week, she can stay right with me and I will appreciate all she does for me.  Some times in my life she has been pretty busy and I look back now and wonder what the heck I was doing at the time.  Momma Said, “That stupid saying comes to mind, Hey Watch This, and I could kick myself.”

I have grown up a lot and now it is Brother’s turn, how he can look at this and not change his way of life is something to be seen.  He has to do a lot of soul searching and ask himself if he wants to go through this ordeal again, my answer would be a definite no, no, no.

Strawberry and Banana Dog Ice Cream

     Ingredients

  • 10 fresh strawberries , chopped
  • 1 medium , ripe banana
  • 1 cup (10oz/280g) natural plain yogurt (low fat, nonfat)

Instructions

  • Mash the strawberries using a potato masher. You want very small pieces of fruit so your dog can swallow it easily.
  • Add in the banana and continue to mash, almost to puree
  • Stir in the yogurt and mix all ingredients until well-combined.
  • Pour the mixture into freezer safe air-tight containers and then freeze for a minimum of 4 hours but preferably overnight. Ice cube trays are good to make small portions.
  • Take treating your dog a step further by turning it into an ice cream sundae party!
  • Keep the Ice Cream in the freezer for 8 weeks.
  • * If you want the ice cream to be scoopable use Greek/Strained yogurt.
