I am about to set a task for myself that I hope I can complete. With all the rain we are having my side yard is a swamp. I have a French drain but it does not go over far enough to catch all the water running from my neighbor’s yard. So I am going to rent a ditch witch and extend the reach of that drain. It will entail getting very close to two fences that I do not want to destroy. This is a fairly large piece of machinery and it will test my fortitude. Momma Said, “Just face the fear and do it!”
I will let you know if my next project is replacing fencing. It will be a lot easier than digging a two foot deep trench to lay drain pipe in so I hope it works out the way I want. (Fingers and toes crossed). I guess you don’t know exactly what you can do until you try. I can’t afford to hire someone to do it and just like Mom I don’t like to ask for help.
You can make it happen, you can watch it happen or you can ask, “What the heck just happened.” I prefer to make it happen for better or worse. Mom faced down every obstacle no matter how big. I need to test myself every once in a while and to heck with the consequences. If I break something, I will fix it, just gives me something else to do to keep busy.
Maybe if I promise my brother an apple pie he will come to my rescue. I always have great expectations of my expertise as a handywoman but sometimes my wishes far exceed my reach. Momma Said, “Just like all my endeavors I will go down swinging.” Wish me luck I think I might need it.

dash of salt
1/2 cup flour

Cut in butter to sugars, cinnamon, salt and flour to form crumbs.
On an ungreased cookie sheet, separate crescent roll dough into 8 triangles. Sprinkle crumbs on top.

After they are cooked and cooled, cut them into smaller triangles but you can leave them big too!
