America is crying! I hate to see the shape our country is in today. It seems as if hate has taken control over every aspect of this great country. It really makes my heart hurt to see people rioting in the streets, the political strife and the all around struggle of our people. Our great country, once the most powerful country in the world, is divided over everything from the color of someone’s skin to who will be the next president.
The police are afraid to do their job and people are rioting over everything. The inner conflict is dividing this great country almost as bad as it was during the Civil War. I don’t see people by the color of their skin, I see them by their actions and the division in the country today is beyond my belief. Momma Said, “Why can’t we all just get along?”
I don’t believe the government should be handing out benefits to people who have not earned them. I know there are veterans who fought for this great country now living on the streets. They should be the first in line for any benefits that the government is giving out. Their health and welfare should be at the top of the list. Some gave their life, others missing limbs and the most of all their mental health.
I think it is deplorable the way they have been and are being treated. It is not like quitting your job and getting unemployment, these men and women fought for this country and our freedom. Some came back looking whole, but parts are missing and changed that we cannot see. PTSD is something that you cannot see, but it is real no less. Our soldiers need help that they are not getting.
For what they have done for our country, they should not be treated the way they are. They deserve the best this country can give them because they gave the best they had to give. And for some, they continue to give even after they come home. Momma Said, “These men and women should be taken care of first and foremost.”
If you do not know by now, I am very passionate about my country. I think the freedoms we take for granted are some of the best in the world and we do not see what we have. I feel we are under attack for our freedoms. I never thought I would see this great country brought to its knees but it seems we are bowing to powers beyond our borders. I weep.
