Well the white robin is still hanging around my yard. It is so unusual to see it that it startles me each time. I have seen white deer and white skunks but this is the first white robin I have seen. I called the Department of Natural Resources and reported it, and they said they are not that uncommon. Well, I am 60 years old and I have never seen one before. Momma Said, “You would think if they are that common I would have spotted one by now.”
I can surely say now that I have seen one with my own eyes. I hope it continues to hang around and has babies. I would like to see if any more pop up, that would be cool I like the odd and unusual. I do hope it warms up soon so the birds will start to nest and have little ones. I noticed some goslings the other day and very soon the little goats will start to arrive. It seems as soon as one has her baby, all the rest follow shortly thereafter.
I like spring when everything seems to come to life. I hope the cold weather we have been having does not stunt too many things that had already started to bloom. We get a short burst of warmth and everything bursts forth and then gets killed with a cold snap. I have mowed my lawn once so far, hoping to get a jump start on getting the first growth knocked off so it wouldn’t get ahead of me. I hate a messy lawn, but guess what I have in my backyard? No backyard thanks to Mudpuppy. Momma Said, “The less to mow my dear.”
This time of year would find Mom chomping at the bit to get outside to work. I think that is where I get my love of the outdoors from. She loved being outside doing something, it didn’t matter what. I miss her so much so don’t wait until it is too late to let your mother know how much you love her. Momma Said, “I think even if you don’t say it she will know anyway.”
