Puppy Update! l took Amber to the vet last week for her second set of vaccines and she already weighs 14.8 pounds at I 0 weeks of age.
I hope I didn’t get a pony by mistake. Oh well, she will have to grow quite a bit to catch up with her big sister BaiJey. She is playing with the cats and likes to be outside. Momma Said, “She is officially one of the pack.”
It won’t be long until the July 4 celebrations. I do so hope Amber is not afraid of the fireworks noise like Abby was. I felt so bad for Abby during that week, she was always so scared. Amber seems to be a very smart puppy, she has already learned how to fetch, sit for a treat and definitely knows what “No” means.
She is not too keen on the bath yet, but it is something she will have to get used to. I cannot abide a stinky, dirty dog. I am sure she will come to enjoy it just as much as Bailey does. I am hoping I can get her to a river before she gets much bigger so I can get her used to swimming. I never took Bailey or Abby much and they did not like the idea of a swim.
I am sure she will be a good dog and I hope she follows Bailey’s lead on alerting me when someone comes around. They are good pals and play together all day. She has done well staying at home now that she has grown enough she can’t get through the fence. Momma Said, “Feed those babies and watch them grow.”
Strawberry Refrigerator Cake
Ingredients
Strawberry Cake Mix
Ingredients Listed on Back of Cake Box (egg, water, oil)
2 (10 oz) boxes of Frozen Strawberries in Syrup
1 cup of cold milk
1 (3.5 oz ) box of Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 (8 oz) container of Cool Whip, thawed
1 pint strawberries (with tops removed and strawberries
cut in half), thawed
1/3 c chopped pecans (totally optional, but you’ll be glad you did)
Instructions
Make the boxed cake mix according to the directions on the back.
Pour the cake batter into a greased 9×13 cake pan and bake according to the box directions.
When it is done take it out of the oven and let it cool 100%.
Once it is cool, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke rows and rows of holes in the cake.
Add the thawed strawberries with syrup into a food processor or blender.
Pulse until it is a slushy consistency.
Pour the strawberry puree mixture over the cake and spread out evenly. Let it soak in.
While you are letting the strawberry puree soak in, put 1 cup of cold milk and the instant vanilla pudding mix into a bowl and mix until thickened. The box of instant pudding says to use 2 cups of milk, but we are only going to use 1 cup.
Fold in the thawed Cool Whip.
