This is a photo of Charles and Nora Merrill Nichols and their family. The family lived on Brown Street in Thomas, just at the top of the hill. The house was torn down within the last ten years. Charles worked in the local coal mines. In the photo (L to R) front: Hanora Nichols born in 1928-2008 and was married to Carl Sprague. She retired after 22 years as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel (Second Row) Theresa Nichols married Glancy Good in 1949, she was born in 1925, Nora Merrill Nichols (1894-1967), Elizabeth Nichols married to a Cotter (Third Row) Robert Nichols(1921-1993) he was a PVT in the US Army, J. Patrick “Pat” Nichols joined the US Air Force as a bombardier during WW II, obtained a law degree from Georgetown University, 1952 won election as county prosecutor and served 28 years, Charles A.
