This is a photo of the Allegheny Heights Hospital and Sanitarium in Davis. It states that the town elevation is 3300 feet; Davis was touted as a good place to be if you suffered from asthma or allergies. This hospital was the first in Tucker County and was established in 1907 by Drs. Hardy and Hardwick; they later sold to Dr. Arthur Butt. Dr. Butt was also a surgeon for both hospitals. A four-year nurse training program was offered at the Davis Hospital. Dr. Butt, Jr. became operator of the Davis Hospital until 1929.
