This is a photo of the village of Cortland. I have no information on who may have started the collection of homes there. There was a school there and it closed as an elementary school in 1933. One of the teachers at the school was Mildred Eshelman. At one time or another, she taught at the Maple Grove School, The Cosner School and Flat Top School all of which were in the Canaan Area.
