Turner’s Tidbits

This week’s photo is of Mr. & Mrs. Wilson. I do not have any further information. Hopefully some reader will recognize them and fill us in. Last week’s photo of the house being torn down by Kidwell’s was the home of Mae Clapsaddle. She and her father “Bus” Mormon lived down stairs. According to the phone calls and conversations, the front of the building had several windows and Mae’s father could be seen laying in a bed in front of the windows. Folks would wave at him as they walked by. Mae operated a beauty shop in the upstairs of the building. One lady who called remembered going there to get her hair set. Dick and Sharon Kidwell purchased the property from Steven’s Realty and tore down the house and a small garage located on the corner of the lot. They had to do work to get the lot leveled out as there was about a foot drop from the sidewalk to the ground. Sometimes kids would hide there and jump up and scare their friends.
