Turner’s Tidbits

This week’s photo is circa 1909. It is a picture of Gene Worden’s great grandfather, Harry D Worden, great grandmother, Nettie Boor Worden, and their daughter Katherine K. Worden born 1901. Harry started the Worden Hotel in Davis around 1915. Both Harry and Nettie passed away in 1933.  Katherine took charge of the hotel and made it a landmark in Davis; she retired in 1971. Harry was a son of Captain Horatio Worden, Civil War Veteran and one of the founding incorporators of the town of Davis. He was also the second proprietor of The Blackwater Hotel in Davis.
