This is a photo from Thomas. The best I can read the engine is #25. I do not know if the men shown operate the engine or if they are mechanics. None of the men are identified. At one time, the railroad was the lifeblood of the communities in Tucker County. Many men and women found their way to Thomas and Davis via the railroad. I remember when the rails were being taken out of Thomas and there was a meeting to try and save them. A group of forward-thinking people had developed a proposal to save the rails and use them to bring a train into Thomas again. As you know, the rails were taken up and Tucker missed out on a great opportunity. Ideas, comments, ideas, or photos to share contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389’
