This week’s photos are thought to be students from the Porterwood School. Last week’s photo is identified as David Frank Eye (1878-1958) and Savannah Simmons Eye (1881-1953).


They moved to Parsons from Franklin in the late 40’s early 50’s and lived on Pennsylvania Avenue. They had the following children: Marie Eye Whetzel, Glenn Eye, Otha Eye, Beulah Eye Key, Delva Eye Delauder, Kate Eye Gooding, Paul Eye, Jesse Eye, Berg Eye, Ralph Eye, Stellman Eye, Dola Eye, Arthur Eye, Eva Eye (died in infancy). None of the original family is still living; some grandsons living in the area are: Sherman Eye (son of Frank) Sheldon Whetzel (son of Marie), Charlie (son of Otha). Some additional information on the family of Nellie Nestor Plum. There were ten children; 6 boys and 4 girls. Those deceased include: Dave, Bob, Walt, Helen Louise, Dortha Lee, Barbara . Those still living include: John, Jack, Elmer and Elma Jean. Ideas or comments contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
