This photo is of the Blackwater Coal Company Tipple Davis, WV. The card is dated 1925. The tipple was used for several years. I can remember my grandfather telling of a tipple that he worked at outside of Davis. I am guessing this is the same tipple. When he worked there a business man from Elkins by the name of Sam Polino owned the mine. I am not sure when the tipple closed; my grandfather went to work for the Department of Highways when it closed. Ideas or comments call Tim Turner 304-478-3389.
