This week’s photo was found in some books donated to the library. It is believed that a Wilson Family donated the books.

ETTA MAE HEBB (1880-1938) of St. George, was the daughter of Joseph Hebb (1849-1917) who lived on Location Road. Etta Mae married John Henry Propst (1881 – 1946) of Moore, and they later moved to Pierce. Etta Mae was the great-grandmother of Joseph Dumire. She was the great-great granddaughter of Revolutionary War soldier William Hebb (1757 – 1833) and his wife Jemima Washington (1755-1820) who was the daughter of Thomas Washington and Ann Meese. Thomas was a brother to President George Washington. William Hebb was sent from England to fight with the British during the American Revolution and later deserted to fight on the side of the American colonists. People in the picture are from top left: Mary Propst (married Bill Somerville); Etta Mae Hebb Propst; Henry Ray Propst ( married Julia); from bottom left; Hubert Leon Propst (married Martha Hershberger); Elsie Mae Propst (married James Liller) ; Thelma Propst (married Joseph Wilson). Ideas or comments contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
