Moorefield, W.Va. – On Dec. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m., Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College (Eastern WVCTC) will host a regional micro-credentialing meeting connecting business and industry leaders with representatives from the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC), the West Virginia Community and Technical College System (WVCTCS), and Workforce West Virginia.

The event is part of a statewide initiative developed over the past 15 months, during which representatives from Eastern WVCTC; Blue Ridge Community and Technical College; Shepherd University; and WVU Potomac State College collaborated with state agencies to advance micro-credentialing as a strategy to better serve workforce needs. The upcoming session will bring together academic leaders, business and industry partners, and local stakeholders to outline the structure and purpose of micro-credentials in West Virginia. Tentative presenters include senior workforce and academic leaders from the participating organizations.

During the meeting, HEPC and WVCTCS will provide an overview of micro-credentialing and its role in supporting employer needs. Institutions also will present their current micro-credentialing efforts and discuss how these programs align with industry goals. Business and industry representatives will have dedicated time for networking with one another and with state and institutional leaders.

Eastern WVCTC has extended invitations to regional businesses, high schools, workforce partners, and state representatives to ensure broad participation and awareness of ongoing micro-credentialing efforts. Light refreshments will be provided.

To register for this event, visit https://easternwv.formstack.com/forms/2025_credential_wv_connect_registration.

For more information, contact Lauren Arbaugh, director of Workforce and Continuing Education at Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College, at 304-434-8000, ext. 9253, or lauren.arbaugh@easternwv.edu.
