MOOREFIELD, W.Va. – Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College’s Workforce Education department has expanded its offerings with 29 new fully online, short-term trainings across seven program categories.

The redesigned program catalog now includes updated and new trainings in categories of agriculture innovation, allied health, career and technical education, commercial driver’s license (CDL), construction trades, networking and information technology, and artificial intelligence. A grant has been awarded for the artificial intelligence program, which is still in development and pending approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). “By expanding the number of short-term trainings available, we’re helping students and community members gain the credentials they need to enter or advance in the workforce more quickly,” said Lauren Arbaugh, Director of Workforce & Continuing Education.

In addition to new trainings, the Workforce Education webpage has also been redesigned to highlight these expanded offerings and provide an overview of the department’s long-term direction. The updated site reflects where Workforce Education is heading as it continues to grow programs that respond to regional workforce needs and emerging industries.

“The updated webpage also gives a clearer picture of where Workforce Education is going by aligning education with industry trends and preparing learners for the jobs of tomorrow,” said Trent Montgomery, Marketing/Graphic Designer. “This webpage redesign will give users a better experience for navigating between the different program categories, plus provides updated information to popular programs like Ag Innovation.”
