One-hundred twenty-eight area students, including Jordan Lee Fenne, of Parsons, received spring and fall semester (2013) academic honors certificates last month as Eastern WV Community and Technical College staged its 12th annual Founders Day ARC (Awards and Recognition Ceremony) before a gathering of proud family and friends.
On the Friday of a week whose Monday had blanketed the region with eight or more inches of snow, a warm and sunny spring sky shined down on “one of the highlights of the academic year,” noted Charles ‘Chuck’ Terrell, president of Eastern WV Community and Technical College.
The ceremony, held March 21 at Moorefield’s South Branch Inn, also honored Hardy Telecommunications General Manager Scott Sherman with its 2014 Harold K. Michael Founders Day Award, and recognized several faculty and staff for service.
Robert ‘Buck’ Eagle, Eastern’s dean of academics and student services, announced the student academic honors, sharing with “faculty and staff,” he said, “equal pride in the accomplishments of students. Fenner earned President’s List distinction by earning “a perfect 4.0: That’s all A’s in all their courses,” the Dean noted..
