The Davis-Thomas Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball team hosted Petersburg on Tuesday January 2nd. In the Girls’ contest the Lady Bears fell in the game by the final score of 62-11.
Davis-Thomas was led by Nevaeh Nichols with 5 points and Katelyn Simmons added 4 points for the Lady Bears in the loss. In the Boys’ JV contest Davis-Thomas lost by the final score 43-29. Aaron Quattro led Davis-Thomas with 12 points and Maddox Anderson added 7 points in the Bears loss. In the last game of the night the Varsity team fell in their contest 62-51. Harper Russell led the Bears in scoring with 15 points and Blake Anderson added 11 points in the Davis-Thomas loss.
On Saturday January 6th the Davis-Thomas teams faced off against Tucker Valley at Tucker County High School. In the Girls’ contest the Lady Bears took the loss by the final score of 52-17. Nevaeh Nichols led Davis-Thomas with 11 points and Katelyn Simmons added 5 points. In the JV contest Tucker Valley took the victory by the final score of 54-32. Aaron Quattro led Davis-Thomas with 12 points and Mallikye Ware added 8 points. In the varsity contest Davis-Thomas won the game in dramatic fashion. Maddox Anderson hit a jumper as time expired to break the tie and give the Bears the win by the final score of 39-37. Blake Anderson led Davis-Thomas with 14 points and John Palmer added 8 points for Davis-Thomas in the win.
