The Davis-Thomas Lady Bears officially opened their 2025 basketball season this week with a pair of spirited games against the Moorefield Lady Yellow Jackets. The night featured a nail-biter in the JV contest and an impressive, statement-making victory from the varsity squad.
The JV Lady Bears kicked off the evening with a thrilling, down-to-the-wire matchup that saw Moorefield escape with a narrow 16–15 win. Davis-Thomas kept the pressure on throughout the game and showed balanced scoring from Wolfe with 6 points, S. Johnson with 5 points & Pregley adding 4 points.
The varsity Lady Bears took the floor with energy, quickly setting the tone in a dominant 44–18 victory. Their aggressive defense and up-tempo offense overwhelmed Moorefield from the start, giving Davis-Thomas a powerful opening night win.
The scoring was led by two standouts Morgan Simmons with 19 and Addy Johnson with 16 points. The duo fueled the Lady Bears’ offense, while the entire team contributed with disciplined defense, forced turnovers, and strong rebounding efforts.
