The Davis-Thomas Middle School Bears golf team turned in their best performance of the season so far, earning a strong second-place finish at their home course in Canaan Valley.
The five-team match saw Petersburg edge out the competition with a team score of 213, while the Bears were close behind at 226, just one stroke ahead of Romney at 227. Pendleton County followed with 233, and Union rounded out the field in fifth.
Leading the way for Davis-Thomas was Jarrett Dearborn, who posted the third-lowest individual score of the match. Teammate Nolan Luzier also had a standout day, finishing tied for fourth overall, helping to solidify the Bears’ runner-up team result.
The team continues to show improvement as the season progresses, with players gaining confidence and consistency on the course.
The Bears will look to build on their momentum when they travel to the Highlands Golf Course in Pendleton County for their next match on Wednesday, September 4th at 4:00 p.m.
