Cross Country – Michele Mullenax

Years as Head Coach: This 2025 season will make 16 years of coaching Tucker County High School Girls’ XC and 9 years coaching boys.

Other Sports Currently Coaching or Have Coached in the Past: Currently, I coach only TCHS XC. I helped start the Tucker Valley Middle School Track & Field team and coached it for 10 years, then coached TCHS Track & Field for 5 years.

2024 Results, Highlights, Key Contributors Lost to Graduation: Tucker hosted three meets during the 2024 season: our home invitational, the Potomac Valley Conference (PVC) Meet, and the Regional Meet. The Girls Team faced a setback late in the season due to injury, leaving us with only four runners. Since a minimum of five runners is required to score as a team, we were unable to compete in team scoring at Regionals. Despite this, Addi Moats qualified for the State Meet as an individual. She placed 21st, just one spot shy of earning a state medal. On the boys side, two runners earned All-Conference medals at the PVC Meet: Lynk Suesli placed 5th and Cameron Judy finished 9th. At Regionals, the Boys Team finished 2nd overall, with four runners breaking the 20-minute mark. Suesli placed 5th with a time of 18:08, Judy followed in 6th at 18:13, Alex Collar ran 18:19 for 8th place, and Nate Ricottilli finished 11th with a time of 19:20. This strong team performance secured a State Meet birth for the Boys Team their third consecutive appearance, setting a new school record. At the WVXC State Meet, Suesli placed 14th with a time of 17:37, earning the only medal brought home by Tucker in 2024. We graduated two boys this year: Allen Collar and Ryan Scott. There were no senior girls on the team in 2024.

2025 Expected Participation (numbers): Looking at the girls’ team, I’m hoping I have all 5 girls returning with a couple new girls to join. The boys’ team, I’m looking for the 5 to return and adding a freshman to the mix.

2025 Expectations for Season and Returning Key Contributors: WVSSAC has realigned Cross Country Regionals. The way it stands now, the boys have a great chance to win regionals with all the hard work the boys have put in during the off season. We are heavy with seniors, and they are good leaders that will help the underclassman success this season. We have a small but strong group of girls; I feel Addi Moats will be a front runner in our region along with newcomer Estoria Chace.

2025 Matchup or Meets Looking Forward to Most: Like with any sport you look forward to all matchups, however our home meet, the Tucker County Invitational, is one of the 4 meets we really emphasize along with the obvious meets, the PVC, which will be at Frankfort High, the Regional being hosted by Braxton County and the State Meet held at Cabell Midland High School.

Head Football Coach, AJ Rapp

Football- AJ Rapp

Years as Head Coach: This 2025 season will make 21 consecutive years as head coach for Tucker County High Football. I was an assistant coach for multiple seasons prior to that.

Other Sports Currently Coaching or Have Coached in the Past: I coached TCHS softball for five years and am currently in my fifth year as Athletic Director for Tucker County High School.

2024 Results, Highlights, Key Contributors Lost to Graduation: The 2024 season was another strong showing for the team, finishing with an impressive 12-1 record for the second consecutive year. The campaign ended with a tough loss to Wahama in the state semifinals, but the team has now compiled a remarkable 33-3 record over the past three seasons. Our key contributors lost are senior standouts; Jared Reall who led the team in both tackles and rushing yards, proving to be a dominant force on both sides of the ball -Garrett Wilfong who was the team’s leading receiver, and second leading tackler, always making key plays throughout the season – and anchoring the trenches were three critical interior linemen, Gavin Nestor, Marky Phillips, and Quante Mitchell, who were instrumental in the team’s overall success. With several key contributors graduating, the team will look to reload and have another successful year.

2025 Expected Participation (numbers): Numbers look promising, anticipating 30+ players.

2025 Expectations for Season and Returning Key Contributors: As the 2025 season approaches, excitement is building around the team’s potential, especially with all-state, quarterback Sam Marks entering his second year in the offense. Coaches are optimistic about the continued growth and leadership from Sam, who is expected to take a big step forward this fall. Reid Kisamore, a returning All-State selection, will once again be a cornerstone on both sides of the ball, bringing experience and playmaking ability. One key focus heading into the season will be finding a new lead running back to replace last year’s production. Cade Rapp and Braxton George are among the top candidates expected to compete for that role. As always, the team’s goal remains simple and consistent: make the playoffs and see what happens from there. With a strong returning core and proven leadership, 2025 is shaping up to be another promising season.

2025 Matchup or Meets Looking Forward to Most: We take them week to week. No one is more important than the other. We have to win games to make post season play, but adding Frankfort will be interesting, it’s a matchup that promises to bring a new level of competition and intrigue.

Head Golf Coach, Landon Dillard

Golf- Landon Dillard

Years as Head Coach: This 2025 season will make my third year as TCHS head golf coach.

Other Sports Currently Coaching or Have Coached in the Past: In addition to golf, I am the TCHS assistant baseball coach (three years), TCHS assistant basketball coach (two years) and coached middle school golf in 2022.

2024 Results, Highlights, Key Contributors Lost to Graduation: We were able to win several matches as a team throughout the 2024 season, with two different individuals claiming low medalist honors in a couple of matches as well. One of them being a 2025 graduate, Brayden Grey, who was a key contributor for us during the season.

2025 Expected Participation (numbers): Six

2025 Expectations for Season and Returning Key Contributors: With the new realignment in the sport going to 4 classifications, creating a shift in the regions, we are in a good position to not just compete, but win our region. To do this, we are going to need strong performances from our 3 returners: Nate Davis, Drew Simmons, and Dominick Delsignore. Each of the three will be expected to be key contributors to the team, and mentors to new team members.

2025 Matchup or Meets Looking Forward to Most: We have the luxury of playing several top tier courses in the state this year against many great teams, but there are two matches that stick out the most. The first being an early season 18-hole match at The Raven, hosted by Tygarts Valley. They are a strong opponent in our region, so it will be a good match to see where we stand against them, amongst others. We have the privilege of hosting our own regular season 18-hole match at Canaan Valley Resort this year, which will also be the host course for regionals. During this regular season match, we will be competing against top teams in both AA and A in the state that were formerly in our region, as well as teams that are currently in our region. This match will be a couple weeks prior to the regional tournament so we will be able to see what areas we need to focus on and how we can properly manage the course to come out with a win when it matters most.
