The Tucker County Lady Mt. Lions claimed a strong 3-1 victory over the Pocahontas County Warriors in a best-of-five volleyball match Thursday night, with an emotional edge as the team honored their lone senior, Rylee White.
The match opened with intensity as Tucker County edged out Pocahontas in the first set, 25-21. The Warriors responded in the second with renewed energy, taking the set 25-19 and tying the match at one apiece.
The Lady Mt. Lions then found their rhythm and surged ahead with dominant performances in the final two sets. A commanding 25-14 win in the third set, set the tone and Tucker sealed the match in the fourth with a 25-17 finish.
The night also served as “Rylee Night,” recognizing senior Rylee White for her leadership, dedication, and contributions to the program over the last four years. She was honored before the match in front of teammates, coaches, family, and fans.
The Lady Mt. Lions return to action October 7th against Southern at TCHS.
