CAMP KIDD – The Tucker County Girls’ Softball team hosted Pendleton County on Tuesday April 22nd for a double header. In the first game Pendleton County got the best of the Lady Mt. Lions and took the victory 16-1. Tucker County managed just 2 hits on 11 at bats. Catherine Pennington and Cheyenne Surguy led the Lady Mt. Lions with 1 single each.
In the second contest Tucker County was unable to get the offense going and only collected 1 hit as they fell in the game 14-1. Bekah Simmons had the the hit for Tucker County with a double.
BAKER – On Thursday April 24th the Lady Mt. Lions traveled to East Hardy for a double header against their PVC rival. In the first game the Lady Cougars out hit Tucker County 12-4 and took home the victory by the final score of 9-1. Caroline Adams, Melanie Adams and Trista Collar had 1 single each.
In the second game East Hardy continued to bat well as they picked up the sweep with the 10-0 victory.
PHILIPPI – On Friday April 25th the Lady Mt. Lions traveled to Philip-Barbour for a 1 game contest. Tucker County gathered 12 hits in the contest on 31 at bats, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Colts picked up the victory 13-6. Bekah Simmons had 1 double and 2 singles on offense and Mariah Bowley had 3 singles for Tucker County. Shannon Whitehair had 1 double and 1 single and Caroline Adams added 2 singles while Lindsey Herron had 1 single in the Lady Mt. Lions loss.
Tucker County(4-12) was scheduled to host Trinity Monday April 28th for senior night and then they will host Sectional foe Tygarts Valley on Tuesday April 29th. The Lady Mt. Lions will then travel to Southern, MD tonight at 4:30pm. They will finish out the regular season in a double header at Petersburg tomorrow night at 5pm/7pm.
